Finally got some flooring finished off. It's taken an age, trying to get it cut to fit the slightly imperfect shape, then getting it stained, then screwing it down only to find the joists weren't quite as even as I first thought and having to lift it to perform some surgery on the support, then finding it still wasn't quite right because the ends were a bit wonky and getting shims underneath, to finally having it screwed down and looking good.

Now I have a solid floor again I can get my ladder in there and finish studding a section of wall and fixing up the ceiling. I'll probably put a tarp down to protect the new floor - ideally I'd have done the ladder and framing work first but I can't use a ladder without solid floor, and I needed to lift the floor to finish a previous piece of work, so my hand is kinda forced here.

Prepping for return to my other field of ministry. Was fun and enlightening treading the home-turf and it's harsh winters for a while but the LORD leads gracefully.

40+ yrs of experience in the City, which awaits,
does little to soften the clamor and hardships there but its very much worth the undertaking.

Slowly plodding along with some house work. I decided to rejig some electrical work I'd done before getting drywall installed, which was a bit of a pain but it makes for a cleaner end result. Next up is framing the rest of a section of wall, and then I can think about getting a drywaller in. I don't feel like attempting that job myself.

The electrical work is done, and everything is put back in place to conceal the new wires and insulate around them. The section of wall is framed, and now there are just a couple of straggling bits of work to be done. So that's what I'm about to go and do right now...

I've been watching old British "let's leave the big city and move to the country" DIY videos from the early 2000's...

These people are crazy.  No money.  No planning.  No skills.  Just "Let's buy a piece of crap collapsed 200 year old barn in Ireland or Scotland or Wales, quit our jobs, , buy an old beat up caravan to live in in three feet of mud and hope it all turns out OK and we don't starve."

Geez.
