Joel and Acts question?
« on: January 13, 2024, 02:40:04 PM »
In Acts 2:16  and Joel 2:28-32.   Is  this the last days we are in?  All over the USA  it appears that people are getting the Baptism with speaking in tongues. With signs following. Of coarse there will be false signs also according to Matt. 24.

Is the USA mentioned in the Bible?

According to Paul there is only one baptism so which one are making reference to?

Why did the moon turn to blood?
Who did the moon turn to blood?
What did the moon turn to blood?
Where did the moon turn to blood?

Yes USA is in the Bible.  In Isa. 34:2  God's indignation is upon all nations. At one time America only had a few states. it was still a nation.  The word Bible is not in the Bible only on the covers.  The word stupid in not in the bible but the word fool is. They mean the same thing.

In Acts 19:1-6  There we have a distinction between , John's baptism and the (one baptism) of Jesus with the Holy Spirit and tongues.  the one of John was a one time witness that one received Christ. The one of Jesus one baptism--is a daily lifestyle.

The land now called the USA did not have any states two thousand years ago.

The landmass isn't the nation. I take it the USA isn't mentioned, then?

Peter says Act 2:14  But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
Act 2:15  For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.
Act 2:16  But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;                                But this is is not a futurist statement.

But this is is not a futurist statement.

I am wondering if you can elaborate about this conclusion that you state?

My reason for asking. The Acts verse is concerning Joel 2:28-32. Which, based on those (prophetic) verses, encompasses a time period from when the Holy Spirit is poured out (v28-29) upon the earth (all mankind) and all throughout the (or this) age where people are redeemed (saved) through believing, by faith (v32 - whoever calls on the name of the Lord), in Christ.

My statement does not disagree with yours... The Spirit poured out in Peters day is the same  Spirit we are blessed with today.

When Peter said "but this is..." he was talking in the present tense. It's happening, right here, right now, in front of you. It's no longer something that will happen at some point in the future.

Do you believe God has removed the Holy Spirit from earth?
