What do you carry?

My service weapon was a Glock 19, amazing gun, my favorite, easily concealable, just a tad heavy.

My backup service weapon is a Smith and Wesson .38 Centennial, 5 shot revolver, always carried it as a backup when in uniform.

Since I retired, I picked up a Smith and Wesson Bodyguard .380, ultra concealable, almost weightless.

Nice.

Always- where I can.

The LEOSA bill allows carrying in all 50 states, but some states try to nibble away at what it permits because they're anti cop or anti gun. NJ and CT accept the law but prohibit "high capacity" (more than 9 round) magazines or hollow point rounds for anyone who is not active law enforcement. This in spite of the fact that the law permits whatever your carried prior to retirement. But nobody wants to be the test case. So when I travel to those states I have a separate, 9 round magazine with ball ammo, which I would otherwise only use for target practice.

A Glock 43x is my EDC. A Glock 19 is my home defense pistol.

I seldom carry because where I live I don't feel the need to, but my firearm is a Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm. it's a chunky thing but as long as I wear a slightly baggy shirt I can cover it well enough. When I am carrying it, it's pretty common for even my wife to not be aware it's there.

Just curious...why steel shot?
I'm an avid duck hunter who hates shooting the stuff for waterfowl. It's more expensive than lead. Has less weight and looses energy quicker.

Personal carry Taurus G3C 9mm
At home protection...probably too many to name. Pistols, shotguns and rifles. Final answer: It depends.

I read a bumper sticker one time that "Happiness is a belt fed weapon." I don't know how far that happiness goes but after zipping a belt through a Browning 1919 I was smiling.

Uh, a David Jones handbag.

But I guess if I had my choice, I'd be rocking a Glock 19 + G36K. I mean realistically I'd be fine with an HK416, unless I ended up in 'Merica, then obviously I'd go for the M4A1. But maybeeeeeeeeee the SIG M338? But who am I kidding I couldn't fire that.

Not carrying nothin'.

I thought handbags and gardening trowels were considered deadly assault weapons in the UIK…

It has been said that the next James Bond movie will be titled "007 - Licensed To Fish".

Except that fishing rods are probably considered dangerous these days.

Not to answer for RibbiKnife but, :-), the steel shot will do the job in any close quarter engagement but if any stray shot misses, it'll most likely stop at the first wall. Preventing collateral damage on the other side of the wall.

I use 4buck with my Mossberg but starting with round 4, it's 0-0 buck and the 7 rounds velcroed to the side of the sg, are also 0-0. I don't have to worry about neighbors and I only want to respeckle (edit: HA, respackle) one wall. If I have to go beyond 3 rounds, I'm not caring about walls anymore.

Correct, Slug

The steel has plenty of stopping power at the muzzle but tends to bleed energy for some reason faster than lead shot.  It might go through the first double sided drywall construction but won’t have much punch beyond that.

I hate respackling walls!

Gotcha, makes sense. You probably won't have problems with this but here in SE Texas humidity steel shot kept for several years can clump and you end up shooting a clumped slug.

The loss of energy for steel has to do with the weight. Steels is lighter than lead. For duck hunting I shoot #2 - #3's with no less than 1550 ft/sec. Otherwise you just end up crippling birds and then me and the dog gotta go chase them down. Before lead was banned you could shoot #6's for half the price and still get better knockdown.
