My nephew's wife just gave birth but there are some issues with the newborn's lungs so she is in ICU. Clearly serious and seems common to premature babies, but she was not really premature as far as I know.
Praying 🙏
May God bless you as you seek to do God's will

More painting. I thought the remains of my tin of paint would be enough and rapidly found out I was wrong. So I used what I had and made a quick dash to the hardware store to get some more mixed up. Thankfully it's just a couple of miles away so my roller didn't dry out while I was fetching more supplies. It turned out I needed half of the second tin of paint. The problem I had was that as the first coat of paint dried I could see the color of the drywall showing through in places. Hopefully this second coat will be enough, but if needs be we can put a third coat on.

Trick.

Wrap the roller with paint in it in a plastic garbage bag wrapped up tightly and you can go several days without the paint drying out
Danger, Will Robinson.  You will be assimilated, confiscated, folded, mutilated, and spindled. Do not pass go.  Turn right on red. Third star to the right and full speed 'til morning.

I think he came to lecture and not discuss.

I'll keep that in mind, thanks!

It looks like two coats is enough. I need another coat in patches on the ceiling, specifically where the drywall seams are because the expanse of white where the seams were mudded kinda shows through. Once that is done (tomorrow, most likely) I can look at fitting the ceiling fan and getting that connected, and then get the sockets installed and powered up.

I'm not surprised a geologist has something that ancient!

Absolutely no progress whatsoever on the house today.

I needed to take my car in for a service so got that dropped off, got home and my daughter came to visit for a while, then I went to get my car back. Then I had time for a quick run before dinner, because I'm off out to my Bible study group in a few minutes.

So the painting I kinda sorta wanted to do today will have to wait until tomorrow. But maybe I can paint, then run, then get the ceiling fan fitted. That would be nice.

A trebuchet is useful for problems of this nature, as well as many other problems.

Wondering what I should be doing with these new cassettes I've gathered. It's not just vinyl anymore, new releases also come with casettes, and so far, they're just sitting in their shrink wrap looking pretty.

Sounds like you need my old 72 Triumph Spitfire

It had a secondary market Marantz cassette deck and six speakers that could peel paint.

The most I ever had was a Sony walkman, and I think for as fun as it would be to have something like that again, cassettes are just so impractical, and no one really has the tech to make something good and cheap.
