I turned a few more eggs. I'm getting better at them, and I've figured out why so many of them bear a depressing resemblance to acorns rather than eggs.

My daughter took about a dozen of them away earlier in the week. I've turned another 9 since then. Today I ran out of blanks so cut another 11 blanks. A blank is just a 1.5" square section of construction lumber about 4 inches long, enough to turn an egg without bashing my skew against the lathe chuck. When I run out of blanks I run a section of lumber through the table saw to cut a 1.5" strip, and then cut it into short pieces.

Got my first injection in my eye for wet macular degeneration in my left eye yesterday.  I'll admit I was extremely nervous about getting an injection in my eye. But it went fine.  They numbed my eye first.  I got occasional floaters in my eye yesterday but they haven't returned today.

I'm in the process of finishing a couple of bowls, and turning something for my daughter on my lathe. I'm not saying what it is, just in case she should happen to stumble upon the forum.

A couple of my bowls are looking rather nice. One has had a first visit to sandpaper so I'm hoping to be putting a finish on it soon.

No time at all on the lathe today. I did some work on one of my many project rooms - reinstalling soundproofing I'd moved to reposition electrical back boxes, then connecting the back boxes so they actually work. Having sockets that work is always a bonus.

Rather annoyingly along the way I misplaced my socket tester and it took longer to find it than all the electrical work took to do. Then of course it took me about 5 seconds per socket to verify all was good.

I just spent  most of the morning, and just over $800, getting my car fixed.  And this evening I will be spending most of my time being Peter.
May God bless you as you seek to do God's will

World has changed and I refuse to. Case in point: pop music.

I'm beginning to see the light at the end of tunnel I just hope it's not an oncoming train.  Last night's rehearsal turned into a tech rehearsal.  Anyone who has ever been on stage can tell you. How much of a nightmare those can be.  The rehearsal part went fine but we had a number of tech problems.  Including having a computer that is failing.  One more rehearsal tonight and then two shows.

One down and one to go.  Last night's preformance went well.  We did have a couple snags.  Times when someone jumped a line but everyone took it in hand and handled it without anyone in the audience knowing.  One more show tonight.

Yesterday I got to sanding the floor in the closet off one of the bedrooms. I'm not sure how or why I didn't sand it when I sanded the floor in the room, but I figured I need to get it sanded before I can put baseboards in there. So yesterday I did the sanding - 36 grit, then 50, then 80, then 120, then a quick pass with an orbital sander at 220, then a wipe with a damp cloth to get any remaining sawdust up.

Today's job is lacquering it. One coat went on this morning, the next goes on in a couple of hours, and the final coat goes on tonight. It's a small closet so putting a coat of lacquer on takes no time at all.

A good, Good Friday, service at chuch. I timed the second coat of lacquer, it took 10 minutes. The third coat goes on in about 5 minutes, then I'm done with that closet until I get the wood to make baseboards.

Behind Waymo autonomous vehicle in narrow 1 way alley with one lane blocked. Runs over a bit of trash next to the blocking vehicle and doesn't know what to do so stops No backing out. My repeated honking finally assures software that it's okay.

Good news and bad news

Bad news is no easter baskets this year.

Good news is we’re having rabbit for lunch…

Recovering from last night.  The shower went very well and the audience, and cast, got a glimpse of what the women that discovered the empty tomb went through.  Everyone was blessed.  And, of course, we had to greet the audience.  And afterwards the director wanted pictures.  Which, in my case that included a costume change, as he wanted staged pictures in biblical costumes.  Most of the cast, and crew, gathered at a favorite restaurant for a bit of a cast party.  I  decided to skip that since, by that time, I was exhausted.  It's been a long week.  It was worth it.  But I'm glad it's done.

Lots of finishing up today.

Clearing stuff out of the room I've been lacquering so the youngest granddaughters can safely play in there tomorrow. Getting a couple of things I made for my daughter and older granddaughter finished off. Then I helped my wife with some general cleaning around the house, and took some time trying to figure out where I might put a big bandsaw in my workshop.
