I guess a lot relates to what sort of accommodations you need.

If someone is academically brilliant but can't climb stairs it would be unfortunate if they were excluded because their assigned booth was the upstairs one. It would be quite reasonable of them to ask for a space they could actually reach.

Where things like sensory processing are concerned it's hard to know what to expect. If you're asking for an accommodation that may not have been provided to anyone else before it shouldn't be totally unexpected that things might not work as well as might be hoped the first time such an accommodation is provided. And there comes a point at which perhaps we have to accept that the entire process works a certain way and if you can't work with the process it's best to choose a different candidate for the process.
