Anne Frank's chestnut tree.
« on: September 03, 2023, 09:43:22 AM »
I wrote this poem after reading Anne's diary entry for February 26 1944
*
This my chosen spot
I may lay me down
gaze can only upward be
filled with hope anew
which grew upon my chestnut tree.
tomorrow I am free
*
No clouds in my sky
nor shadows troub'ling me
gracefully glide the seagulls
silvering droplets sparkle
upon my chestnut tree
tomorrow I am free
*
As long as this is so
and if my eyes may see
my heart can never be sad
for me the sun is shining
through my chestnut tree
tomorrow I am free.

I was wonderfully saved through reading T. L. Osborn's magazine Faith Digest which I picked up off the pavement. It carried the Banner "God loves YOU He wants to bless YOU"
