Why are the profile pictures so fuzzy?

No matter what resolution I start with, when I upload a profile image it becomes very fuzzy. Am I doing something wrong or is it the forum settings?

Good question. I've changed some settings, can you try uploading again (possibly with the image already at 140x140px) and we'll experiment further depending on the result?

Okies it works now, maximum size 1MB. Try to hit 140x140px or else it'll resize and might look funky. 140px is the maximum width of the column that shows the username, avatar, etc.
