One Day on the Golf Course

Two friends were golfing one day in an area not far from a roadway when a funeral procession began passing by. One of the men paused, took off his hat, and held it over his heart until the procession passed. After resuming their game, the friend said, "that was a very respectable gesture." "Ah, it's the least I could do," came the reply. "We were married 12 years."
