You're funny. It seems you've confused two separate questions: (1) the nature of the soul and (2) the 'resting' place of the saved prior to Christ's return. I don't recall saying that God put a living soul in Adam. Where did you read that?

The question of the ultimate destination of the believer prior to the ressurection is a secondary issue, yes. No one's salvation is in jeopardy if they think those who die in Christ go for a long nap or they return to God (or similar). There's certainly a question of a view that's right while all others are wrong, but nothing soteriologically significant.

Pointlessly arguing over where Adam and Eve are, if they're alive, is kind of boring. It strikes me as a means of avoiding the eschatological failures of the JWs 19th-century leadership and prophetic utterances regarding the return of Jesus. What are your thoughts on those, particularly 1799, 1879, 1914? Where exactly does your expertise lie?
