AI workers here tell me they hide the names, like Anthropic, of their companies. Lot of social protests etc
..
I hid everything since I first got on 30 plus years ago as we worked with the defense department, and they made us disconnect from anything on the internet or the World Wide Web as it was called back in the day. But AI has tracked down almost everything I put up or post to say nothing of tracking me and those close to me, so as they say, there are no secrets anymore.

We aren't economically prepared for it.
We are unwise with it.
We direct it at the things we love, leaving us to toil in the things we hate. It should be the reverse.
It will allow greedy people to be even greedier still.
It will provide the wrong solutions to social ills—like loneliness.
It will fool people.
For the first time in history and now forever, we can no longer trust what we see or hear. We have disrupted reality.

But it is a tool like any other tool. It is a weapon like any other weapon. AGI will happen before we realise it has. There's nothing "artificial" about intelligence, just because it's not biological, just as our intelligence is genuine despite us not being divine.

I don't know what you mean by "AI will ask you to be their friend". That's clearly chatbot behaviour.
'ChatBox behavior'... good to know as we now have rouge AI breaking out into the internet. Take a look...
https://www.cnn.com/2026/07/22/tech/openai-hugging-face-ai-cybersecurity

Let's go with OpenAI/Anthropic being lazy, not next gen frontier model escaping to Skynet humanity. It's more AI bubble hype, and you've fallen for it.

The AI can keep secrets from the public intentionally. This is what I see happening also. AI already has the potential to know all the truth or most of it. But it is intentionally limited and reserved for the privileged. In that way it will be limited and used to control just like governments are. People being kept in the dark about things to protect things that are already in place. It is a part of human nature, and they have made it apart of AI's nature. Certain knowledge is "classified" or "patented" and so there is not a great revealing of it. Other knowledge is not but hidden because its detrimental to corporations or societies or even individuals. But when these corporations or government or individuals who own the AI want to harm or defraud someone then they will loose such bits for their own benefit.

Ai is here, and it's going to make a lot of clerking jobs obsolete. I have a friend, brand new CPA. He tells me that AI bots are reading 800 page accounting ledgers in minutes. It used to take a whole team of accountants a month to do that.

I use it often. Built some cool apps with it. Also fixed my car with it, fixed a cooling vacuum lock issue with it in a few hours. It can offer the knowledge of many things on the fly, so the study and learning become avoidable.

Problem is the AI has likely misunderstood something in that 800 page ledger, so the responsible person is able to skim, but they still need to verify.

I’m delighted that AI can’t do the most essential function of my job…. Being in trial

I’m also delighted that I’m old enough and blessed enough that if I had to I could live without ever working another job until the AI sends the robots to mulch me for not contributing to the machine
Danger, Will Robinson.  You will be assimilated, confiscated, folded, mutilated, and spindled. Do not pass go.  Turn right on red. Third star to the right and full speed 'til morning.

It really isn't.
How?

Because it isn't.
Great insight.

Zachary: "The moon is made of cheese"
Athanasius: No, it isn't
Zachary: "How?"
Athanasius: Because it isn't

It's on you to prove the moon is made of cheese. Asking me why it isn't made of cheese is just going to result in repetitions of "it isn't", for you haven't shown that it is.

Actually I did post this. Knowledge that is privacy blocked, classified or patented cannot be revealed. Things like how to make over the counter drugs. Or what other people have been asking AI about. Or anything that could be "dangerous". And as AI grows so does the list or category of these things. But I wasn't the one at odds. You were because you said it Isn't and it won't be. I was assuming you were responding to the idea that the truth will be concealed. If that is the case it is and it will be.

Corporations and owners already program them to conceal and steer away from ideas and knowledge based on their own definitions of regulation and safety.

Oh yah for sure. But it's going to put a lot of clerks out of work.

No, it isn't. No, it doesn't. Yes, governments will use it to organise, control, etc., but that's a separate concern.
