The irony depicted in the cartoon reminds me of the paradox of DEI initiatives combating discrimination by practicing discrimination. There are already laws prohibiting favoritism in hiring and being served, so DEI represents a gratuitous measure amounting to little more than reverse discrimination. Bias against someone because they are not a specific race or sexual orientation is just as wrong as bias because they are, and runs just as contrary to equity and inclusion. Hiring based on merit and qualifications is always in the best interest of a company or organization. No dividends are paid by pandering or virtue signalling.
