Understood. If the reports are accurate, members (former) are being called up
Who would be calling them up? The PA hasn't had any authority or government members in Gaza for the last 16 years.

At this moment, looking into/for more info.

"Competing claims"

Gentiles claim that Jews murder gentiles to use their blood in Passover Matzos

Jews claim they don't do that.

Genius: I can't tell which one is correct.

It’s all those cannibal Christians drinking blood and eating Jesus flesh… come on man, get your religious diatribes right!!

.  😳

I love it!

Yes, I know none of this did me a single favor, suffice it to say iRL I actually have no friends, and no one likes me precisely because i'm like this. I know. I know. I know.
If you have the self knowledge to realize this, perhaps this is something you could work on. You could try and be friendlier, especially in an environment like this. Nothing is forcing you to hit the "post" button after you're done tryping something. Think about what you're saying, and how it's going to affect the reader, and what kind of reaction you're going to elicit.

You could make friends here, you know.

Ferris, however enthusiastic you are about your version of events, the mainstream media are required to work with evidence.

This:
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-67144061
is a good example of the media working with what evidence is available and acknowledging their limitations in the process.

They mention Hamas saying something. Hamas is a terrorist organisation. Those two sentences do not cancel each other out.

Using  Hamas and Israel as examples do you understand the evidence received from one could be opposite of the other?  You keep posting BBC i guess you are from the UK . Here in the USA most of us have learned not to believe what the media says. Editing of videos is now done so well they are not to be trusted. Interviews are edited to promote which side of a conflict the producers wish us to accept.

Ferris gave the coverage of Israel as an answer to the original question on this thread.
That I why I have chosen the example of Israel and not, for example, HS2 or plans for a Wrocław metro.
The BBC is one example of the mainstream media.

I am keeping to the same example when talking to the same person, rather than Gish-galloping.

If your post was directed to me i have no idea of what you are saying, out side of knowing  BBC is one example of  mainstream media.

There is a question at the very beginning of this thread.

Ferris replied to this question.

I replied to Ferris, on the topic Ferris introduced to it. I gave the BBC as an example of the media in my reply.

That is why the topic of Israel (the one Ferris introduced) and the BBC keep getting mentioned.

I can't really explain it any more simply than that, Rebecca.

The BBC has been piss poor and is being roundly and rightly criticised. The example below isn't "working with that evidence is available". The journalistic thing to do, is say there's been an explosion, and then wait for verification rather than play amateur rocket detective.

Life is not a problem to be solved, but a reality to be experienced.

Okay. How about this as evidence:

The Hamas Charter calls for the destruction of Israel via Jihad, and the murder of every Jew in the world.

We saw them carrying this out during the Simchat Torah pogrom.

Being as their objective is ethnic cleansing and genocide, it is realistic to put any claim they make under a microscope. They're not otherwise good people who happen to have a predilection for mass murder. They're bad people. Do you honestly believe that they want to commit murder, but they would never lie?

Stop being a useful idiot.

Let's sum up the conflict:

There are two sides.

You have Hamas, who wants to murder Jews.

And you have the Jews, who don't want to be murdered.

And neither side is willing to compromise.

Ferris replied to this question...
The screen name of the person is Fenris  ;)

David,

Do you see bias as influencing the media in reporting news?
I certainly do. Some news orgs are better than others at being objective.

Since CNN & BBC were brought up, I see CNN showing a troubling amount of bias that I don't read anything from them other than to get a point of view of what most on the left think. I see the same from Fox News. Only time I would read Fox news is to find out what most on the right thinks. I have very little exposure to reporting from the BBC so I don't much to base opinion of them on.
