Prayer for my wife
« on: September 15, 2023, 05:31:45 AM »
One year ago my wife was diagnosed with cancer in her toe, the toe was removed and all signs were on green after that. This morning we got an alarming phone call from Amsterdam, the cancer is back, now in the lungs. Monday she gets a ct-scan in Amsterdam and Wednesday we go to Amsterdam again to hear the result and treatment(s).

I want to ask your prayers for her, for healing and her peace of mind.

Thank you.

Prayers ascending.
Standing before the Judgment Throne we will retain only two things from this life: what God gave us, and what we accomplished with it.

UPDATE

My wife responds very well to the immune therapy, the cancer even has shrunk after only 3 sessions which is a statistical exception. End of next month she will have her second scan and the doctors expect an even better result. Up to the point they might decide to stop the therapy but keep her under surveillance.

God is good.

Thank you for your prayers..........

Context, I wrote this in February

UPDATE

My wife is extreme.

immune therapy has stopped in August because she responded so well with hardly any side effects from the very long list of immune therapy. The doctors marveled : this is why we doing it for and more of such. Her cut-off toe is making a tour through the universities of the USA, a melanoma in a toe is extremely rare. So far so good.

Last week starting Tuesday, she started to feel extremely tired, it got worse the next day, explanation : side effects from the immune therapy, a known one and not unusual, relax is the message. Thursday morning, while she was doing reasonable considering the last 2 days her condition went down extremely fast. We called Amsterdam, explained the symptoms and they said drive as fast as you can and so we did. Within a few hours they already found the trouble make, her pancreas stopped  working, immune therapy attacked and ruined her pancreas. Meaning a shortage (actually a total absence) of insulin. They moved her to the IC and started a treatment. Just in time, one day later it was not impossible I would have been a widower.

She is no longer on the IC, insulin treatment works, she sound upbeat and positive again, but now the doctors have to figure out the right dose because they never had such a case before, they estimated a chance of 1:1000 and probably more and thus a bit unknown territory, but these folks are the best in the country, the only treat cancer and are listed at place 7 of the best hospitals in the world. They treat hundreds of patients a day.

We are so happy (and thankful to the Lord) this hospital came on our path only because our local hospital made mistake on mistake in the beginning and even lied to us.

As for the statistics, a melanoma in a toe is extremely rare, the chance immune therapy ruins a pancreas is said 1:1000, yep my wife is extreme and I extremely miss her. Hopefully she comes home this week, doctors won't let her go before they are absolutely sure.

Wow!

Well, in that case, we'll go with extreme thanksgiving and extreme petitions for her health and restoration.
