And his new book, "The Return of the Gods," is just whitewashed and rehashed drivel about any ancient world religion that any half-way Berean New Testament believer should already know, without all his editorial sensationalism to fit his dispy teachings.

I heard him last week say -- "You know, the shooting of the three children in Nashville -- they were each 9 years old, and if you take 9-9-9 and reverse it and turn it upside down, you get 6-6-6, so there is irrefutable proof that the killings were demonic.  So there you go.  And the three adults were all in their sixties, another 6-6-6, so how much more evidence do you need?"

Slightly off-topic, but are people really still doing that 666/616 thing today?

I know that there are a lot of people who don't know that it is just a reference to Nero. However, anyone who has looked at the myriad Asci combinations you can come up with, mixtures of house numbers and ages of companions in early episodes of Doctor Who must realise they are flogging a dead horse.

Coming back to Neusner and Dunn, in their most significant books about historical Judaism I wouldn't say that their personal faith got in the way of their scholarly work. That is not something I would say of all theologians.

Nowadays world would collapse without the internet. Imagine if someone gets control over it. You can not shop any longer, don't pay your bills, don't get access to your bank account etc. Unless of course you receive the mark, whatever that is.

How far are we away from such a scenario? Maybe not so far.

Image a new terrorist attack with a dirty bomb that kills a few millions. Governments are going to make drastic measures, one of them would be you can only get internet access with (for example) your unique social security number and every key you touch and mouse-click are recorded. Cameras with face recognition in China style everywhere. All for your own safety as they will say.
