The Light of God that Rules the World
« on: January 26, 2023, 09:10:12 AM »
Jesus raised us up from the muddy ground, captured in this New Age Music:
1.
The precious love of God come down from Heav'n to earth below, the riches of your saving grace no tongue can all explain, down on my knees I bow and joy to raise my voice and sing: precious is He that bought my soul, great is the love that saved me when I was down on muddy ground and brought me to joys above.
2.
The light of God that rules the world has from on high appeared, your radiance beams thru all the earth and chase the darkness flee, the straying ones in awe rejoice the path of life to find; shine now and glow sweet guiding light, spread forth to all your beauty till all the earth your glory feel and never be gloomed again.

The lyrics are above. What's particularly new age about them?
Life is not a problem to be solved, but a reality to be experienced.

The OP claimed it was "New Age" music.

Did you miss that?

Yes, but then I read the lyrics and assumed the OP was ESL. What about the lyrics are new age?

Hunt down the OP and ask them.

The OP is free to reply when they can.

In the meantime, you've remarked that "the problem" is that the song is new age. I'm assuming you've read the lyrics and can point out what the problem is that you have in mind? Or have you simply latched onto the opportunity to point out the words "new age"?

I don't particularly care for the song myself (genre and style, I mean). Lyrically I've had more problems than what's sung every Sunday. So I'm genuinely curious what you see as the problem?

Now, ... you know what happens when you assume.

You make a donkey of yourself. Remember?

Some people need things repeated, and that's okay.

See, it was ... the OP ... that pointed out the words New Age.

Yeah, not me.

New Age concepts are well-known to be anti-Bible and anti-Christian. They are a mixture of beliefs from Hinduism to Buddhism to Self-help and Pop-psychology.

They are NOT Christian.

I have not, and will not, read the lyrics as that is 100% irrelevant to my original comment.

I believe the word is 'ass'. But really? You made your comment without reading the lyrics, and you're going to try to pull off this little thing off? Listen, you requested that I be not so attitudinal, and I agreed, so let's keep it that way.

It's not under dispute that the OP used the words 'new age'. But the OP also provided the lyrics, and you said there was a problem, so...?

I know what 'new age' can refer to, don't you worry.

So you saw the words 'new age', made an assumption, now refuse the read the lyrics and are deflecting. Bravo. I was hoping you'd be able to point out what was 'new age' about the lyrics because, as far as I can see, they aren't. If you insist on knowing nothing about the content of the song, though, then, well, that's a unique approach.

Agree!

My music genre is strictly New Wave. None of this New Age nonsense!

I also said where the problem lies.

If you want to go new age, then witch house is the place to be:

Fits in well with the new wave vibe.

The Bible speaks against having anything at all to do with witches or witchcraft.

Just sayin. It is a Bible Discussion Forum.

Couldn't resist, huh? :) I'm well aware. I hope that if we have any sort of friendly discussion it extends beyond a descriptor. Like, say, the lyrics of the song I posted and how they related to witches and/or witchcraft?

You're the one who can't resist. It couldn't be more obvious.

I'm doing exactly what I'm supposed to be doing, what I'm here to do. Discuss the Truth of the Bible, and all that it entails.

You're nudging, and crossing, the line repeatedly, as subtly as you can, and then saying "Oh, you're just imagining things. You're jumping to conclusions. You're overreacting.", etc.

This aint my first rodeo and I know your kind well.

You will continue to present a questionable example here in order to encourage a lax walk in order to trip up others.

Prove me wrong.
