Athan 2:7- The "Lord" God breathed into Adam the Immortal Soul!

Where is the word 'immortal' used?

What's an "athan"?

Apparently, it's a Greek name meaning something like "immortal" or "eternal life".

Whew!!! That's a relief.  I was worried there was some sacred text I had missed.

It isn't. Immortality comes from eating of the Tree of Life.

Having an eternal existence is an attribute of Man, which we all have. "Questions" is not qualified to make dogmatic statements that are not truly based on the text. Nor is any of us.

Thanks for asking the question. I hope I'm right in the way I view "immortality?"

I'd take 'eating of the tree of life' as indicating being in proper relationship with God, but however, we view that, we're agreed on immortality I think. I certainly don't view Adam and Eve as having been created immortal (then mortal as a consequence of the fall). Immortality was and is the plan, but God had good reasons for not granting eternal life to us from the start.

By the way, I haven't forgotten about our other discussion. I'll follow up in a day or so.

Then WHERE or WHEN did you imagine Adam acquiring an 'immortal soul'?

Again, where did I write that I thought Adam had an immortal soul? It would be helpful if you tried to discuss instead of trying to force views onto myself that you then demand an answer for -- views that I may or may not hold.

My, so SLIPPERLY!
You think Adan had a 'immortal soul" instead of God saying he WAS a soul- so WHERE do you think he GOT it!

If I were being slippery you could simply quote me back to myself. So, again, where are you getting the idea that I think Adam had an 'immortal soul' instead of being an 'immortal soul'? I wouldn't affirm either of those statements as written.

Got a quote for me yet? I can do this all month, by the way. It's no sweat off my brow and you're entertaining anyway.
