God's Grace
« on: June 16, 2021, 05:47:04 AM »
Our Lord said,

But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Lk.6:35

Nowhere is this more perfectly shown than when Jesus patiently suffered being contradicted, lied about, abused and killed, all without bringing those who sinned against him into immediate judgement. That's the grace of God. Jesus showed us  how his Father is.

More even is this true than the mercy, through His grace He shows me also. When I deserve judgment, I get mercy. Oh wretched man that I am.
1 John 3:14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

Yes Parson, we all do, but point is, when sinners deserve judgement, we offer mercy as our Lord did.  That's the grace of God. The grace of Christ and Christ in us,

for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Lk.6:35

Can you believe the King being spit on and not slapping the head of the spitter off? God help us to be more like him.

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men Tit.2:11

God's grace was shown to Paul when he was a supporter of having our Lord's people murdered. Our Savior said,

Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? Act.9:4

Paul was persecuting Jesus's followers. Jesus and the Apostles spoke of how God's people would suffer as our King did, but that we should show the grace of God to all.
So, instead of bringing Paul into judgement, the Messiah taught him.
