the resurrection
« on: December 04, 2022, 07:08:48 PM »
We all know Gods word teaches of a resurrection-this occurs after Jesus brings Gods kingdom rule to the earth and satan gets abyssed for 1000 years. The bible says a resurrection to life or judgement. But its not as it seems. The wages sin pays is death. Thus when one dies have paid in full the wages of sin.
Romans 6:7 assures at death one is aquitted of past sins.
Thus at the resurrection. all will get the opportunity to learn and apply Jesus' Fathers will to get everlasting life. But satan will be loosed for a little while to test the resurrected ones-The faithful get their names written in Gods book of life, but sadly Rev 20:8 shows many as the sands of the sea, called Gog from Magog will follow satan and be thrown into the lake of fire.
What are your thoughts on the resurrection?

Goodbye, and ἄπαγε.

Romans 6:7 does not teach that everyone is acquitted of all sins upon their physical death.

Today's translation of Rev. 20 is faulty, and it is taught as unsound doctrine in almost every church today.

Revelation is a book of signs and symbols, just as it states that it is, and Jesus tells us this in 1:1. Every time John begins an experience, he declares that he was in the Spirit. That means what he is relating cannot be taken literally. Not to say it will not take place, but that we cannot expect it to take place as he observed it.

The concept that we will have a thousand year period, after Christ's return, upon a still-intact physical earth, is contradicted by every single other eschatological (end times) passage in Scripture. And, though naysayers about, 1 Corinthians 15:21-27 makes undeniable the fact that all things end upon the earth immediately after Christ's return. The earth will be destroyed - per 2 Peter 3:10.

Danger, Will Robinson.  You will be assimilated, confiscated, folded, mutilated, and spindled. Do not pass go.  Turn right on red. Third star to the right and full speed 'til morning.

Makes me wonder how literal John's statement that he was "in the spirit" was. Or maybe it was concrete instead of literal. Tricky, tricky.
