A Bruised Reed

Sinner, you need not despair -
God is merciful and fair!
Lift your eyes; behold the Lord,
Read and stand upon His Word.

God will not break a reed that's bruised -
No longer will you stand accused.
If true repentance fills your soul,
The Lord will heal and make you whole.

Though your faith burns weak and low
God will not quench it's smoldering glow;
The One Who called you by your name
Will fan the embers into flame.

Turn your back on sinful deeds,
Give Jesus Christ your heart that bleeds.
He's more than able to repair
Lives given up to Him in prayer.
