Possibly starting a Bible Study
« on: October 21, 2021, 08:51:38 AM »
My church is changing the way we do home groups. One they call Community Groups and one is called Word groups. Next week I have a meeting with my pastor about leading a word group Bible study. It's something I've wanted to do for quite awhile. Maybe now could be the time.

If you lead the study, please be more of a facilitator than a teacher! Involvement by others is a key to their being edified, as well as interested. Nobody likes just being preached at all the time. They want to contribute, even if they don't know it all.

Certainly you have to know how to keep things on the right track and kosher. At the same time, granting freedom of expression and being tactful in dealing with excesses is important. Just my view...

Hooah, "Bible Study" is just that... a study and being included in the discovery of God's truth and understanding His truth that is found in the Word of God, is much more edifying than sitting through a "Bible lesson." I always raise at the start of a new Bible study, discipleship is about equipping and if I was to simply give lessons, the equipping of how to transverse  scripture in effort to "learn," is missing.

Wolfman, leading any group full of those who are interested in learning from God's Word, is always a blessing.
