Devotions / Re: - A Churchless Christian –« on: May 29, 2021, 08:23:05 AM »
Great devotion and so true! I love this quote by Theodore Roosevelt “You may worship God anywhere, at any time, but the chances are that you will not do so unless you have first learned to worship Him somewhere in some particular place, at some particular time.”

That really is good! I could not tell you how many people have visited the church and complain about another that they visited and did not get anything out of it. Seems they normally don’t come back to visit after I ask them what they brought to the service 🤔

Testimonies / Praise for grandson« on: May 26, 2021, 06:52:20 PM »
I thank the Lord for bringing my grandson Ray through a successful surgery a few days ago. He gets to go home today so Shortstuff can finally come back home tonight! She has been staying with our oldest daughter and grandson at the hospital. If you don’t mind, keep Ray in your prayers as he still has a way to go but God has this! He is a 2yr little man with CF. Thank the Lord for modern medicine and his little smile 😁

Controversial Issues / Re: Time for Democrats to Address Their Anti-Semitism Problem« on: May 26, 2021, 04:07:12 PM »
Trying to understand, if this is separate from what is going on in Israel right now, what spurred the recent outbreak of violence against the Jewish people here in the states? Normally the left (media) support whatever meets their agenda at the time. I think the media (propaganda) probably sparked what is going on here by not supporting Israel in the current world events. Kind of like the way that people started attacking our law enforcement after the media started twisting the truth.

It is really a shame that those that will burn businesses or make public declarations of disgust for one group will not even speak out for other groups. What’s really bad is the ones that will try to fight for right and stand with Israel are cancelled.
It’s not fun to have to start accounts over after being deleted but very worth it. 11
In General / Re: what are the "fundamentals" of the faith?« on: May 26, 2021, 07:12:16 AM »
I think today we see the Word is spread into the uttermost parts of the world while it lays dusty on bookshelves in the places that it was sent from. We are in a time when preachers preach on everything but Jesus expectation of following Him in the way we live or His judgement for the wicked. We live in a time of preach/teach what you think/feel with authority instead of humbly admitting we are all learning and need to stay in the Word. Where did the understanding go of, we can know them by their works?
We got a letter at the church about 14 years ago from an organization asking us to take down any crosses at the church and stop talking about blood because it offended people. Maybe that’s what happened, too many churches were worried about offending people so they watered down what they shared so much they had to just stop using scripture. All that rambling to say, I think we need to stick to teaching the basic truths Jesus taught. Stop looking for something new or trying to make the congregations feel good. People need to feel a sense of unease to have a desire to change. First people need to accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. Get into the Word so we know what He said about how to love the Lord first and love our neighbors. If we really love our neighbors we will want to help them find Jesus. It’s hard to show them a better way when we are sounding, living, and acting just like them. We need to be like Christ instead of just wearing Him on our clothes, if that makes sense. 12
Apologetics / Re: God's will« on: May 25, 2021, 01:01:18 PM »1) How do we know what God's will is?This is my pondering on these- 1. Not sure we do until we try what we are thinking might be. I usually ask myself, is this gonna benefit me or others. If it benefits others more than me and takes effort from me... it’s probably God putting the desire in me to do it. If I don’t try it I will never know. If I try it and others are helped but I lose my peace, I get out of it as smoothly as possible feeling like I did good helping but knowing if it was God’s will I would have maintained a peace in my spirit. If I keep the peace and joy through the task I continue the task until I feel like the Lord telling me I am done. 2. Interesting question. I think He guides us through things that prepare us for His will but along the way we are fulfilling His will. 🤔 3. I believe so, if we do not do our part I believe He can use others and we lose our crowns or blessings we could have received. His will, will be done one way or the other. That being said I believe when He starts a work in us it will be completed because He knew before He started it what we would accomplish. 4. I believe so, just not in the ways we think it will or should. 5. I don’t think so as for as His will for us individually. I believe He hints to many things so we have to seek and follow Him. We learn and grow when we do not know what exactly to do. The lack of clear direction creates a desire to seek understanding and direction. 6. I’m sure glad He loves us and still sees us as children even though we have grandkids. Just as we expect our children and grandchildren to stumble a lot 😂 13

The oldest computer can be traced back to Adam & Eve.
Surprise- it was an Apple! It had the extremely limited memory of only 1 byte. Then everything crashed 🙃 14
