Eschatology / Re: The seven seals and how they relate to Matthew 24« on: March 16, 2025, 10:37:25 AM »
Yeah, there is definitely a precise correlation between the seals and Matthew 24. The Revelation in fact, picks up where Daniel leaves off, breaking the seals he was told were sealed until the end time. It's amazing that the last book of the Bible ends with the conditions that began in Genesis, including the restoration of our fellowship with God. 66 books written over hundreds of years, dovetailing with a common thread telling the story of man's fall and long road to redemption through the love and mercy of God.

Hello shep. Great to see you again. Brent was pretty sick, and had to let the old BF go, but offered the mods a chance to take over and keep things going. Unfortunately, we ran out of time before we could get on the same page and formulate a game plan. The Parson wanted to revive the board under the original domain name, but it was unavailable. Precious few of the old gang has found their way here, and it's always good to see a familiar name. If you'd like to view some of the original content of the old board, try the wayback machine at https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://bibleforums.org/content.php/* Anyway, welcome, and I look forward to chatting with you.

In General / Re: In four years, you don't have to vote again« on: March 09, 2025, 08:36:08 PM »In four years, you don't have to vote again Trump made the statement while criticizing Democrats and their approach to voter ID laws. Based on what he later told Laura Ingraham, he was encouraging reluctant voters to turn out in 2024 in order to counteract the negative effect of bogus votes against him. The idea seems to be that once elected, he would work to ensure only registered voters could cast a ballot--and with the problem fixed, every single vote would not be as critical in future elections. At any rate, it's unrealistic to imply Trump suggested that if, elected, he would circumvent the law regarding the two term limit on Presidents and install himself permanently--essentially making himself a king. 8

In the Wizard of Oz, why didn't Glenda the good witch tell Dorothy the ruby slippers she stuck her with had the power to take her home? Would have saved her a lot of time and trouble.

How is it that Mike Brady, a supposedly smart architect, chooses a house with two bedrooms and one bathroom for 6 kids?

In General / Re: US National Debt« on: March 07, 2025, 04:27:29 PM »
In just over a year since the original post, the debt has increased by 2 trillion dollars to over 26 1/2 trillion. For context, a stack of 26 trillion one-dollar bills would be about 1,760,000 miles high, or over 7 times the distance from the earth to the moon. That's mind-boggling.

In the Karate Kid, Daniel wins the tournament with a kick to the face of his opponent--a strike the referee lists as not permissible. (Apparently, the Director overrode that ruling).

I guess most here have experienced the effects of the "Siberian Express". Fortunately, its caboose is in sight, and I won't miss it when it's gone. I like cooler weather, but am not fond of temperatures that require me to remember to leave a fast drip on the faucets to avoid pipe freeze. The snow and ice brought on by precipitation and temps in the 20's and teens are rare here in SC -- even in the winter months. Like Florida, we don't normally have a discernible winter season, but more like a series of cold snaps before becoming moderate again. Looking forward to the "Goldilocks" temps of the mid 60's before summer brings back the typical 90's.
