Title: Pray for my eyes
Post by: Cloudwalker on March 03, 2026, 12:44:33 PM
I recently had an eye exam and they discovered what appears to be early Macaulay degeneration.  I am going to go to an expert and get more information.  Please be praying.

People respond differently to medications, but about 10 years ago, my mother was diagnosed with early stage Macular Degeneration, and her eye doctor recommended vitamins that hinder the progression of the disease. Today, at 91, despite needing eyeglasses, the condition has not progressed to any significant degree. The vitamins, put out by Physician Recommended Neutriceuticals, are called "numacula eye vitamins" and are based on the Ared2 formula. Praying for you.

I take Ared2.  Have for some time. I also have cataracts in one eye, but I already knew about those, and the Dr said they don't need handling yet.  I plan on asking the specialist about them when I see them.

I have the earliest stages of cataracts, but not enough to affect my vision. My primary concern is my heart. I had an aortic valve replacement (biological) in 2014, and they last an average of 12-15 years, so I'm getting close to the projected shelf life. I spent the weekend at the VA when my A-Fib acted up, hitting a heart rate of 240. Now I've had Metoprolol and Eliquis added to my list of meds. Good thing is, the next valve replacement can be performed with a TAVR procedure, which is a lot less involved than my original open heart surgery. We're really blessed to live in an era where medical science is so advanced.
