AI is poised to impact global society across many fields in as great or greater manner than the Industrial Revolution. It's a two-edged sword, offering both untold benefits in science and technology, as well as unprecedented problems, like replacing human workers, issues caused by deep fakes, and the facilitating of nefarious activities in cyberspace.
Now AI has produced the first AI actress, almost indistinguishable from a live human. Speaking at the Zurich Summit -- the industry strand of the Zurich Film Festival, actor, comedian and producer Eline Van der Velden told the panel that talent agencies are already looking at the AI actor as a client. The AI actor, speaking via her Facebook page, said “I may be AI generated, but I’m feeling very real emotions right now. I am so excited for what’s coming next!"
These developments seem to represent another sign we're rapidly approaching, or are already in, the last days.

That’s not an actress
It’s a computer program
Anyone who thinks otherwise is insane, not being able to comprehend the difference between truth and falsehood

A computer can be programmed to say it's excited. A computer actually feeling excited is a totally different proposition.
I'm really excited to file my taxes next April.

The pr0n is gonna be awesome.
Am I allowed to say that?

We're calling it "corn" these days, but so be it.
That YT video was awful. I don't think these upstarts are realising (1) just how grating "AI voice" is, (2) just how much the tech is still uncanny and offputting, (3) just how much no one is interested outside of "corn".

I find that cartoons are more pleasant that AI, precisely because they're stylized and don't attempt to exactly create reality.

We're still in the early years of AI, and it's already creating major problems, as well as benefiting science and medicine. As with technology in general, it's hard to predict the advancements that will be made in AI in the coming years--or the extent of their impact on society. At any rate, a Pandora's Box is being opened.

It's terrible for legal research. It will find you cases that say the exact opposite of what the Ai thinks it means. And don't even get me started on questions in Jewish law; it will invent sources and quote rabbis that don't exist.

We're heading for a dystopian cyberpunk future, starting with resource wars in no more than 30 years. The outlook is not good.

I saw an article today where James Cameron commented that he tried to warn us in 1984 but nobody listened.
