Title: Is True Love biblical ? The bible says about finding True Love ?
Post by: Arikel88 on November 11, 2023, 11:25:33 PM

The bible tells us love comes from God, but what type of love is true love. Is true love from God ? The true love God says is what needs in thr heart to find it ? Is his True love as a father, the love a women and men must have to find true love ? The love of a couple of men and women the love he wants us to love so we can love the univers like him or love like Jesus ? Love comes from him a father love's, a mother love's, and love of siblings is love and the bible verses says all love is his creation. What is your experience in true love ? What bible verse you found tell true love or other love God says in the bible.
We will look at verses and find proverbs 31 the women God wants and psalms a place where true love is and verses.

Romantic love is certainly found in the Bible. Not only is the Song of Solomon about romantic love but so is the love of Jacob for Rachel and his willingness to serve Laban for seven years in order to marry her.
Gen. 29:18 Now Jacob loved Rachel, so he said, ''I will serve you seven years for your younger daughter Rachel. . . 20] So Jacob served seven years for Rachel and they seemed to him but a few days because of his love for her.
So there you have it.

Here is one, is love selfish because we need it?

Another one, is Agape without selfishness ?

Very close.
True, Godly love is:

"For God so loved the world that He gave..."

Are you following?

Love is a verb, it's an action. In the case of God He so loved that He gave (His only begotten Son..."
And love is commanded by God to His people to be shared among His people only. The world is enemy of God and if you give God's love, which is Holy, to unholy people you are in effect disobedient, disloyal, and betray God.
What is it called if we love God's enemies (the world)?
Treasonous.

Leviticus 19:17-18.

Take note love is to be shared with our brethren from another mother, and brethren from the same mother.
Ya falla?

In your example, that God loved precedes that God gave. It's both/and, not either/or.

"Love is a verb" is a fantastic reminder that it's not just a (fleeting) feeling.
"Love is a verb" is a fantastic reminder that love necessarily involves act.
"Love is a verb" by DC Talk still slaps all these years later.

"For God so loved the world" tells us that before He gave His only begotten Son, He loved the world. Loving the world, He gave His and only begotten Son. Love is both the state and the act. It's not only Hollywood wishy washy Disney princess feelings, and it's not only act divorced from whatever we want to call the corresponding inner-state.

It's not just, "I like, really hate you, but ugh, I saved your life just now, and I know I'm going to like so totally regret that, but what I did, that's therefore an act of love, therefore I loved my enemy, even though I totally hate you like omg."

Which is why I said both/and, not either/or.

God instructed the twelve tribes of Israel on love while they were in the desert at the time of the Tabernacle. The instruction is found in Leviticus 19 and here God instructs on love and commands to whom love is to be given: from Israel to Israel.

God never instructed the twelve tribes to love the Gentile peoples/nations which surrounded Israel. Love is commanded to be shared ONLY with fellow brethren. Holy love to a holy people and such love which comes with profit when given according to the commands.

Jesus didn't come to destroy the Law but to uphold it.

He is addressing Jews and brings up the original command and then upholds it. The Jews who were listening to Him teach out of the Law understood perfectly He was teaching on the original command God gave to the twelve tribes in the desert.

Jesus taught the Hebrew people from out of their Law. Mixed heritage Jews of Jew-Gentile descent was also included in the covenants because they were still Abraham's seed. Like the Samaritan woman. She was a daughter of Abraham.

I have heard you say, "Love your neighbour - the twelve tribes of Israel - but hate your enemy", but Jesus tells us, "love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you".

The bible makes no such distinction. It simply says "love your neighbor". Nothing about the twelve tribes of Israel, nothing about hating your enemies, either.
