The Birth date of Jesus is a highly controversial subject. I've studied it a lot have some very overlooked observations and see the errors of many other scholars and researchers.

Jesus was born in the fullness of time.
The date is irrelevant.
-
The day of visitation has to do with the count from Daniel's prophesy.
If the Jews had realized it, it would have only affected each personally; it wasn't going to change the course of history or the appointed crucifixion of Jesus as the sacrifice for our sin.
So knowing the day of Jesus birth changes nothing; ergo, is of little if any importance.

This is a forum, not a pulpit. Keep it cool.

And your neighbors' toes!
Greetings, my friend!

Would you call this a theological topic? I would have thought that it would be under some other academic heading e.g. history, archaeology or possibly textual criticism.
-
textual criticism.
I'm not a Christian and my opinion means nothing on the topic, but I'd go with textual criticism.
-
Depends how it's approached.

When, then, is the birth date / year of Jesus?

Not sure it matters at all

Not sure it matters at all
We can be certain it doesn't.
