Say what?

Apparently, finding headless babies amidst the carnage in Israel doesn't necessarily prove they were beheaded:

New York Magazine Intelligencer features writer Eric Levitz responded Sunday to backlash over a post he made on whether babies were actually "beheaded" or not in Israel by Hamas terrorists, where he said it wasn't fully proven that occurred.

"According to this report," Levitz wrote in response to an investigation by an international team of forensic pathologists, "Hamas militants tied a parent and child together and then burned them alive."

"Last night, I asserted that this report indicated that babies were beheaded," Levitz wrote on Sunday. "This was an overstatement. I should have said that the report established that babies were found headless, a fact that lends plausibility to claims of beheading, but which does not prove them."

Maybe it's just me, but the logic of such a statement seems a little out of place in a magazine called the New York Magazine Intelligencer. Seems more like sick satire.

Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the [b]wiles of the devil.  12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of [c]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Denial is a great lie of lucifer. Right down to the proverbial, "the devil made me do it," lie as any carnal person makes effort to deny their own responsibility in doing evil. But when it comes to evil like what Hamas does, they won't deny their evil because they're sharpening their blades to do more evil at any given opportunity. So, others under the sway of the devil have to do the denying "for" the evil doers.

Yes, evil is the only word to describe the carnage and depravity wrought upon the innocent by Muslim fanatics. Not only is it done wantonly and without compunction, in their twisted minds, their pernicious deeds glorify their god. I've seen videos of them shouting "allahu akhbar!" while beheading people. It takes a primitive mentality to do that.

I saw this on Twitter. Apparently, this is what passes for an "intellectual" nowadays.

Well, the bar has been lowered considerably in recent years.

Technically seeing a person detached from their head, absent any other observations, doesn't prove they were beheaded. They could have been decapitated in all sorts of accidental ways.

That said accidental decapitation seems far more likely to happen to, say, the guy who juggles chainsaws than to a baby who does little more than suckle and cry. Babies aren't known for partaking in activities where decapitation is even a remotely likely outcome.

As an exercise in pedantic nitpicking it may have some technical merit. As for trying to make a coherent and rational argument it does rather fall short, given a lack of likely alternative explanations.

There's a weird internet phenomena where a person says "I'm just asking questions". But it's all thinly veiled antisemitism.

For example, "How do we know that the 9/11 attacks weren't carried out by the Israeli Mossad? I'm just asking questions!"

It's not nitpicking, it's furthering an agenda under the guise of "intellectual curiosity."

When I hear of decapitated victims found at the site of recent murder and mayhem perpetrated by people known for beheading, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the heads were probably removed intentionally.

Sometimes that sort of thing is referred to as "Schrodinger's Douchebag" (you can substitute other words for douchebag as required). They make a comment that's marginally to extremely offensive to one group or another to see what response they get. If they get agreement they continue, if they get pushback then they were only joking.
